2.0 out of 5 stars Episode 12-13: Nick & Troy the heroes? The writers are obsessed with sociopathic, snuff like behavior.

I"m writing this reviews because one thing that is both infuriating & annoying is investing a lot of time in a series, only to lớn watch the writing devolve into a tabloid like rubbish heap in latter seasons.Episode 12Nick has been the biggest loser of the entire series, but he continues to be cast as some sort of "leader?". Through his idiotic decisions, Nick has phối up to be killed more good people than all of the bad guys in the entire series. I mean, Nick is a one stop cửa hàng of death for everyone who comes in tương tác with him. Why doesn"t Nick ever have to take responsibility for his actions through the entire series? Just lượt thích a drug addict, his character continues to hurt và even get other people killed because of an ongoing and unchanging pattern selfish behavior.e.g., Nick goes out with Jake lớn stop Troy (the sociopath murderer). Nick knocks Jake out to lớn prevent Troy from being killed by Jake. (Why? Who knows? I guess the writers are trying khổng lồ tell us that it is more important khổng lồ save sociopath murderers rather than responsible, rational people.), và thereby, perhaps, salvaging the ranch. Thanks lớn NIck, Jake dies, but he saves Troy. Net conclusion: Nick saves the sociopathic murderer who brought the horde khổng lồ the ranch, while his actions caused the death of a really good character, Jake, while simultaneously allowing a horde lớn overrun the ranch, killing countless other innocent people.ANOTHER WIN FOR THE EXDRUG ADDICT NICK! (Even though he isn"t on drugs, his same pattern of selfish và bad decision making persists, w/o accepting any responsibility or suffering any consequences! The writers message seems to lớn be something lượt thích all people are human và deserve the same rights, but some people are exceptions, and while they have the same rights, they vì chưng not have the cốt truyện the same responsibility that other people have, even when their decisions cause great harm to others. It"s almost lượt thích being a drug addict or a sociopath gives you special rights, like the right to lớn never have khổng lồ take responsibility or suffer the consequences for a pattern of bad decision making. In fact, one should be rewarded.Update: I"m seriously thinking the writers are smoking meth.Episode 13:So, in the opening scene, Nick explains that Troy"s brother is dead because Troy "brought a horde down on us." Really? I guess we"re suppose khổng lồ just forget that in just the last episode, Nick knocked Jake out to prevent Jake from killing Troy, thereby getting Jake bitten, & dead. If Nick had let Jake kill Troy (something Troy very well deserved, being a mass murdering, sadistic sociopath, and all) Jake would still be alive. As viewers, we"re suppose lớn believe that Nick had no part in Jake"s death? This is an insult to lớn viewers. It"s purely insulting because they don"t address that moral dilemma. What"s frustrating about it is that it would have made for an interesting conversation about intent vs. Action vs. Consequences. The writers decided lớn completely ignore it.In addition, only two minutes in, Nick is talking about Troy & he "saving" the others. I mean, these two guys are perfect mirror images of each other because they think they are saving people, when, in fact, they are buffoons who have already indirectly killed more of the camp than all of the zombies could have put together. Also, I saw this coming. At the kết thúc of the episode, Nick lies for Troy, telling the last 5 survivors of the camp that "Troy was coming lớn warn them about the horde, but it was too late."Now just think about this for one second. Troy got the entire camp killed except for three survivors, one of which was Nick"s own sister, making Troy a mass 1st degree murderer. Let me put this another way. Troy just mass murdered an entire camp, one of which was ALMOST NIck"s sister, & Nick lied to his sister và family about how Troy was there to save them? What sort of boss khủng could actually lie for someone who almost murdered his sister, and succeeded in murdering hundreds of people? Moreover, Nick also lied lớn the survivors of the camp, including his mom, Strand, Olivia, his sister about how Jake died, saying he "got bitten." (Remember, Nick is the one who knocked Jake out và got him killed.) Once again, the writers want us to buy into a main character who repeatedly acts irresponsibly, shrugs off the consequences of his actions by lying lượt thích a seasoned sociopath, and gets away with it every time. I"m not sure which is worse, Nick or Troy. It doesn"t matter. They"re heroes now.In addition, the writing is becoming infuriatingly inconsistent. Consider that Troy led the horde to the camp with a loud noise. So, why can"t a couple of the camp"s citizens simply lead them away with loud noise? It"s another inconsistency that the writers have chosen to lớn ignore. This is seriously shoddy writing and character development. It"s not only incompetent, it"s junior varsity soap opera at best, incompetent, shoddy tabloid fiction at worst. (Due lớn inconsistencies that repeatedly continue unexplained, I"m leaning strongly to the latter.)For instance, when you contrast writing for Nick & Troy"s characters in series two with the well developed characters of Strand and Salazar, the writing in series two is clearly second-rate. Both of these latter characters are conflicted và deep. They both committed selfish or violent acts, và in Salazar"s case, some pretty horrible. However, their reasoning is believable, and the morality of their actions is discussed in depth by the characters. In addition, neither character tries to lớn hide from his actions. They know they are conflicted, & they want to cốt truyện that with the viewer. That"s what makes them interesting. You just have to lớn believe that Strand, although selfish, is và wants khổng lồ be a good guy, is capable, clever, educated, và sometimes rash và impulsive, always fighting his instinct for self preservation. He has feelings & cares about others. Both of these characters are excellent, interesting, & something khổng lồ look forward lớn when they are on screen. By comparison, the writing for Nick và Troy in season two are shallow, undeveloped, & simple. They are simply sociopaths harming others for their own needs, getting away with it time & again, and the writers allow that lớn happen without any explanation. In conclusion, after episode 12, this series has become seriously broken because the writers are being sadistically insulting to lớn us. Viewers are subjected time & again to Nick và Troy"s increasingly abhorrent behavior & inconsistencies in plot lines, both without any explanation. As viewers, we not only want to lớn be entertained. We want lớn think and learn about and from our characters. What bởi we learn from this type of writing? Maybe something like, "Hey, being a cunning sociopath has it"s rewards." Okay, so what? Why not just watch snuff videos on the Dark Web?Sorry, they lost me. I cannot buy this latest story line, & I"m not buying another episode. Good bye, FTWD.
